Annie’s Crochet Striped Afghan Club

Today, I will show you what comes in Box Five of Annie’s Crochet Striped Afghan Club along with a demo of some crochet stitching.

This is a fun project with only three stripes to crochet each month.  The afghan club comes for knitting just in case crochet isn’t your thing!

Since I only have to get three stripes done each month, this Club has been easy to keep up with.  If you’re not good at following written instructions, every section of this afghan has a video you can watch and stitch along with.  The demonstrator does a great job and everything is up close to the stitching so you can easily see what to do.

Day Fifteen - April Insanity List

Project 15 – Crocheted Birds

This project came about when a good friend of mine sent me a picture of a crocheted bird and asked if it was a future project!

So I checked out some books and found one but decided to pass it up because I had plenty of projects already. The other day, Caspian (my grandson) saw the Crochet Monkey kit and asked if “we” could do more like the monkey that he could put up on a shelf with his other collections. One thing lead to another and we got on the subject of the birds.  So the Crocheted Birds went on the project list!

We have been looking over the different bird patterns and haven’t decided yet which will be first.  I’m sure there is more than one bird in my future.  I have no idea what the pattern will involve but I’ll try my best to make sure when I am done, it will resemble a bird.

Crochet Striped Afghan Monthly Box

Join me as I open my first Crochet Striped Afghan monthly box from Annie’s.  I’ll demonstrate some of the stitches used in the afghan.  I’m looking forward to working on this project each month and will share a video box opening and tutorial with you each time I receive a new box.

I hope you will stitch along with me on this project or any other you want to make so we can be sure to get our project completed!!  Three stripes per month doesn’t seem like too much to get accomplished before the next box arrives!

Crocheted Afghan Project

Since I have been doing quite a bit of needlework lately, I decided to take the plunge and join a Kit of the Month Club!!
I am going to be making Annie's Crochet Striped Afghan Club!  I will be posting my progress as well as short videos of each row in case you want to crochet along with me.  There are two color ways and I chose this one.

Each month I will get a kit with yarn and instructions to make three of the striped rows.  The first kit also contains crochet hooks.

I am excited to get this project started and three rows per month seems to be something I can accomplish without feeling stressed!!

If you'd rather knit, there is a knitted squares afghan kit.  I may have to try that one after I get done my crochet striped afghan!  One step at a time!!
