Day Ten - 2022 April Insanity List

I have skipped a few days of posting on typepad as I now use my own website for my daily postings.  Today's post has lots of pictures of the fabrics on my website for you to enjoy.

Another new project! I have wanted to make this bowl for some time now so it goes on my April list so I have a better chance of getting it done! It is made from clothesline that is stitched together. Before I start stitching up what would be the sides of the bowl, I will put an embroidery design on it using my embroidery machine. You wouldn’t want to hand embroider through clothesline………at least I don’t think anyone would!!

Day Six

My sixth project is based on a fabric line that I love! It is called “Goose Tales”. The fabric was manufactured by Riley Blake and the artist who designed the collection is J. Wecker Frisch. I met Janet many years ago at Quilt Market in Houston, TX. At the time she had just designed a collection based on old children’s games. I can’t remember the name of the collection but I have some of the fabric in my “inventory”. Janet told me the story of her first time bidding on eBay. She wanted a deck of Old Maid cards along with some other old games for inspiration. She bid on about five Old Maid sets not realizing that she could actually win them all and she did! We had a great laugh over that. Janet’s father is an artist so that talent runs in her family. You may want to look her up when you have some time. I have enjoyed all of her fabric collections. Very whimsical.

Day Three Project!

My third project uses my embroidery machine. It is a set of designs from Anita Goodesign called Stuffed Acorns. Someone asked me why would I make stuffed acorns. My answer is because I will enjoy looking at them. That is reason enough for me. We need to surround ourselves with things we like to look at and make us smile. Apparently, stuffed acorns make me smile!!

Day Two Project!

My second project is what I call my Bee Quilt. It uses bee fabrics and I am doing it in a hexagon shape like a bee honeycomb. I am not following a purchased pattern for this project. I do own EQ8 which is software to design your own quilts and more that I will probably use to get a visual if I am undecided exactly what I want to make. The software is great to see how much fabric I may need for any borders.

My Annual April Insanity List
