Spent part of Sunday sewing and got some Christmas ornaments finished. Check out my Sewing Projects photo library to see one close up. I have five more cut out, sewn and gathered but I need to go to the store to get some more holiday picks for the top. I'm going to try A.C. Moore this time to see what they have on sale. A sewing friend of mine said she was in Moore's and they had a nice selection. Once I have the tops on, I will upload pictures of all of them. They were lots of fun to make and pretty easy, too! I have a new circular attachment for my sewing machine and this worked perfect to do the stitching that needed to be a couple of inches from the edge of the fabric circle for the gathering. The attachment came with two new feet and one of them was a cording foot. This was perfect for holding the gimp cording that I used for gathering the fabric. When I zig zagged over this cording, there was no problem with the cording getting caught in the stitching because the cording foot held it in place perfectly while the circular attachment guided the sewing around the circle of fabric. I just had to sit there and watch.........I'm pretty good at that!!
Hope you are getting your projects done for the holidays. More pictures soon!
Happy sewing,
loreen
